9th Ward Gucci is no stranger to the industry, exploding onto the Hip-Hop scene under the So-So Def label, having previously being briefly signed with Super Producer, Jermaine Dupri and Nitti (former So-So Def Producer, i.e., Young Joc’s song, “It’s Going Down”). As a result of LA Reid’s ultimate decision to separate from that aspect of that business, subsequently Jermaine Dupri, in addition to his artists, was concluded as well. Unfortunately, 9th Ward Gucci’s career was brought to an abrupt halt, due to these circumstances which were beyond his control.

My name is Michael Griffie aka MicG. I was born in Indianapolis, IN and I currently live in Bloomington, IN. In 2010 I decided to start my own entertainment company, Gloomy Loonatic Entertainment, and leave the street life alone. Ever since then music has not only been my passion but I have made a career of it. I have learned numerous new skills including producing, engineering, song writing, making beats, developing artists, and mastering the art of being a DJ. I have 7 artists, my own studio, and have developed a very strong fan base, especially in Indiana.

In a weakened state of Hip Hop, Chi City™ feels like he’s on top of his game and can outshine the majority of the hottest artists in the mainstream. “I feel that I’m gonna be the next big artist to break out of Chicago and really put Chicago in the spotlight like the south is…”, explains the lyrical rhyme pusher. Armed with immense lyrical ammo and a legitimate authentic style that harks on the glory days of Hip Hop, he is more than ready to take on the masses.

Im an aspiring Dj of 9 Years originally taught by 107.5 WGCI Chicago's Dj Phantom. I am also a Songwriter/Co-Producer/Rapper.
