In solo artist Verdell’s latest offering, “Praise,” the rapper is left all but questioning his faith. In comparing his hustle to the lifestyle it’s yielded, he is confronted with thoughts of being a failure. His faith further tested by the loss of family, casual racism and alcohol, Verdell must “praise up” knowing he still has the opportunity to silence doubters. And with that knowledge, he delivers this track as a testament to his faith.
