For his latest release, "Mansa," he wanted to build something different, something bigger than anything he'd attempted in the past. And so he decided that "Mansa" would involved a sequence of "seasons," or albums, that would present his music in a linear timeline. As the initial stage of this idea, the first season of "Mansa" acts as a primer of sorts, a map of where he's been and where he hopes to go in the future.
