Create Music Group takes minority stake in DistroKid

Create Music Group now owns a minority stake in DistroKid, the DIY distribution platform, following CVC Capital Partners taking majority control in July. Terms were not disclosed. Create, valued at $2.2 billion in March, says it has put more than $500 million into acquisitions, advances and other moves over the past year. For independent artists, consolidation among the companies that deliver their music is worth watching for shifts in pricing and services.
