The image is the first thing anyone sees, on the site and on Instagram. Your Update is shown as a square, so square art works best.
- Sharp. At least 1080 × 1080 pixels. No blurry, stretched or pixelated photos.
- One clear subject. You, your cover art, or the moment. Not a busy group shot where nobody stands out.
- No screenshots. No phone status bars, app buttons, or a picture of a post. Use the original file.
- Square. A wide or tall photo gets cut to a square, and faces near the edge get cut off.
- Little or no text on it. Your headline already says it.
