The headline

Ch 3 / 8

Most people only read the headline. It has to tell the whole story on its own.

  • Put your artist name in it. "New Single Out Now" could be anyone. Your name is what people remember and search for.
  • Write a full sentence: who did what. A headline a news site could post as-is.
  • Write about yourself as "he", "she", "they" or by name. Never "I", "my", "we" or "our". Press is written in third person.
  • Be specific. Name the song, the place, the number, the partner.
  • Keep it short. Aim for 60 to 80 characters. Write it in normal capitals, not ALL CAPS, and skip the emojis.
